Register Now"You’ve probably heard the word 'burnout' tossed around in conversations or scrolling through social media.
But have you ever stopped to ask: what does it really mean?
And more importantly—how do I know if it’s happening to me?"Â
Burnout isn't just being tired.
It’s a state of chronic emotional and physical exhaustion, often caused by long-term stress and over-giving. It can make you feel detached, ineffective, or like you're running on empty—no matter how much sleep you get. If you are burned out, you probably don't know it. What you do know is that you can't function properly...at work or at home. Â

How serious is it...really?
- Almost 2 in 3 teachers show signs of burnout.
- According to Gallup’s latest teacher burnout statistics, K-12 education employees and college or university employees report higher burnout rates than full-time workers in any other industry.
- The World Health Organization now recognizes burnout as an occupational phenomenon—not a personal weakness. It specifically affects those in caregiving and service professions like education and nursing. You’re not broken—you’re human."
- Burnout is included in the WHO’s ICD-11 as a work-related syndrome resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed.” (World Health Organization, 2019)
- 35% of US educators regard their job as highly stressful
- Nearly 50% of K-12 teachers experience high levels of stress on a daily basis
- >61% of teachers reported experiencing job-related stress multiple days per week
- 64% of reported feeling “emotionally and physically exhausted” at the end of every workday
- 59% said that they felt mentally distanced from their job
- 3 in every 4 teachers have reported physical health issues
- 37% of the teachers reported that they have regular headaches or stomach aches
So, is it serious?  YES
Should you be paying attention to it?  ABSOLUTELY
Why? Because Burnout doesn’t just go away.
Left unchecked, it deepens.
Let's talk about YOU and YOUR situation.
Have you been witness to...
Unrealistic expectations from your school Board, increasingly limited resources, large class sizes, complacency and lack of ambition, minimal performance standards, unprecedented school violence, and lack of acknowledgement or understanding from higher-ups.Â
Then you...
have started second-guessing why you chose this profession in the first place!
are seeing the complacency, lack of ambition, and minimal performance standards as distressing and disheartening
Let’s Name What You’re Feeling—So You Can Finally Change It.
- You dread your shifts—even the ones you used to love.
- You’ve become emotionally detached from your students.Â
- You are 'doing' but are not present.
- You keep saying “yes” when you want to say “no”.
- You're making mistakes...mistakes that you never used to make.
- You snap at your loved ones—or feel nothing at all.
- You feel irritable, resentful, or numb more often than not.
- You are constantly “on,” over-doing, over-thinking, over-giving.
- You feel like you are holding everything together alone...and you resent it.
- You judge yourself harshly and avoid asking for help...even when you're struggling.
- You don't sleep well because you are fretting about work and your life. You therefore wake up tired and go to sleep more tired.
- You’ve thought about quitting, but you don’t know what else you’d do...and so you carry on...miserable..
- You wonder… what happened to the person I used to be?
It’s not because you don’t care.
It’s because you’ve carried too much, for too long:
It's called Burnout…and it is affecting health professionals everywhere.
Â
Imagine...Â
- Being genuinely excited about your subject and committed to student success.
- Waking up excited to go to school
- Building meaningful connections with students, colleagues, and the community.
- Embracing change and excited about new teaching strategies and technologies.
- Navigating challenges with a problem-solving mindset rather than getting discouraged.
- Bringing lessons to life by making learning engaging, relevant, and interactive.
- Your enthusiasm is contagious, creating a positive learning atmosphere.
- Making self care a priority and sticking to the boundaries you established
Â
Instead, you may have been a witness to...
unrealistic expectations, impractical parents, increasingly limited resources, large class sizes, complacency and lack of ambition, minimal performance standards, unprecedented school violence, lack of acknowledgement or understanding from higher ups.Â
Then you...
-
Have had a front row seat to the learning gap that happened across schools this past few years.Â
-
Have started second guessing why you chose this profession in the first place!
-
Are seeing the complacency, lack of ambition, minimal performance standards are distressing and disheartening
Let’s Name What You’re Feeling—So You Can Finally Change It.

- You don't sleep well because you are fretting about work and your life. This cycle of waking up tired and going to sleep more tired seems endless.
- You’ve thought about quitting, but you don’t know what else you’d do...and so you carry on...miserable.
- You wonder… what happened to the person I used to be?
It’s not because you don’t care.
It’s because you’ve carried too much, for too long:
It's called Burnout…and it is affecting educators everywhere.
Why is there so much burnout?
- Excessive and increased workload: The trickle-down effect of staff shortages…Additional work hours with no pay increases
- Emotional and Physical Exhaustion: Feelings of anxiety around their work and managing students, lack of sleep and lack of social life
- Workload Demands: Doing more with less, unfilled positions and lack of subs
- Workplace Culture: Undervalued and underappreciated, ignorant officials, and out-of-touch administrators
- Lack of Respect:  80% felt negativity or cynicism related to the teaching profession
Why this matters
Many talented educators are more dissatisfied and leaving the profession at a record pace.Â
- 55% of the teachers said that they are ready to leave the profession due to excessive burnout
- Around 22% of teachers expressed intentions to leave their jobs by the end of the 2023–2024 school year, citing stress and inadequate pay as primary factors. Between February 2020 – May 2022, it was estimated that over 300,000 public school teachers and other staff quit due to burnout
- Over 30% of K-12 teachers are choosing the option of early retirement from teaching
- The percentage taking early retirement has increased by 55% over the past 30 years
- Up to 30% of new teachers quit their jobs within 5 years of teaching
- Teachers in the US are quitting at twice the rate as teachers are quitting in other countries (8% vs 4%)
The Crisis: What Happens If You Don’t Answer the Call?
Burnout doesn’t just go away. Left unchecked, it deepens. And so...
- You lose connection with your students, your colleagues, and yourself
- You feel numb, resentful, or even hopeless about your work
- Your health suffers: headaches, insomnia, anxiety, and fatigue
- Your relationships strain because you’re always running on empty
- You question if you should quit and leave it all behind
And perhaps worst of all, you forget why you began.
But deep down, you know: the heart that started this journey is still inside you. It just needs a path back.
We are at a critical point.Â
