Issue #01 — November 2025: 'Saying No with Grace'
Welcome, beautiful soul 💫
This month, we’re leaning into the sacred art of Saying No with Grace — learning that boundaries aren’t walls that separate us, but bridges that protect our energy and open space for joy to return.
So often, we say yes from fear, obligation, or habit — and in doing so, we silence our joy and stretch our nervous systems thin. Saying no with grace is a practice of nervous system regulation — moving from fawning and people-pleasing into grounded alignment.
When we pause before responding and notice what our body feels, we begin to discern the difference between obligation and joy.
The gentle truth is this: “Your 'no' can be one of the most loving things you ever say — for yourself and for others.”
🧭 Monthly Focus: Saying No With Grace
✨ Affirmation of the Month:
Sam loves to use affirmations - Quantum Physics explains why they work! Curious? Sam will happily explain!
She recommends writing the affirmation out repeatedly in your journal or writing it on a 'sticky-note' and putting it on your bathroom mirror - or anywhere you will see it repeatedly.
"I honour my boundaries with compassion. Each time I say 'no' with grace, I say 'yes' to my wellbeing"
🧡 Take a deep breath.
This month, may you honour your 'no' and rediscover your JOY.

💡 Featured Article: The Nervous System and the Compassionate No
In this month’s featured article, we go deeper into the heart of Lesson 1 of Module 1 in the Burnout to Joy Foundation Course by exploring how your sympathetic nervous system triggers the “fawn response” — that automatic urge to say yes, please, or appease, even when your whole body is quietly whispering no.
Understanding the fawn response is one of the most powerful steps in burnout recovery because it helps you see that people-pleasing isn’t a personality flaw — it’s a physiological state. When your nervous system is dysregulated, appeasing feels safer than honouring your boundaries. But with awareness and the right tools, you can learn to pause, regulate, and respond from a grounded place instead of a reactive one.
In this article, you’ll learn:
✨ The difference between fawning and authentic compassion
✨ How to regulate before responding, so your “no” becomes steady and graceful
✨ A simple 3-step body check to help you find your intuitive yes or no
This insight sets the foundation for everything we explore in the course — giving you the skills to reclaim your voice, your peace, and your energy… one graceful “no” at a time.

🌙 This Month’s Joy Tip: The Evening “Release & Reset”
Before bed, place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.
Breathe in for four… out for six…
Then gently affirm:
“I release what I carried today. I choose rest.”
This 60-second reset soothes your nervous system, softens the fawn response, and clears space for a more intuitive yes or no in the morning.
Sleep Well!
